Coil & Pod Compatibility Guide: Which Coil Fits My Vape?

Most coils and pods only fit the device family they were designed for, so the quickest way to find the right one is to match the coil or pod name to your device name. Use the table below to see which replacement coils and pods fit the kits we sell, and in which resistances. If your device is not listed, pop into any Vape King store and our staff will help you match it.

How to find your coil

  • Check your device name. It is usually printed on the device itself, under the pod, or on the original box.
  • Check the name on your old coil or pod. Coils normally have the coil family and resistance printed on the side (for example "GTX 0.6Ω" or "PnP-X 0.3Ω"). Pods often have it on the base.
  • Match the family, then pick a resistance. Within a family, any listed resistance fits; choose the one that suits how you vape.

Notes: Voopoo lists the Argus 0.4Ω pod for Argus Pod Family devices with 30W output; on lower-powered models, use 0.7Ω–1.2Ω. Vaporesso GTX and GTi coils look similar but are not interchangeable. PnP X coils do not fit older original PnP devices.

Choosing a resistance

  • Lower resistance (about 0.15Ω–0.4Ω): needs more power, makes more vapour and suits direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping with higher-VG, lower-nicotine freebase juice.
  • Mid resistance (about 0.6Ω–0.8Ω): a balance of flavour and vapour; suits restricted DTL or looser mouth-to-lung (MTL).
  • Higher resistance (about 1.0Ω–1.2Ω): a tighter MTL draw at low wattage, works well with nic salts and is easy on battery life.

Always stay within the wattage range printed on the coil or its box.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a different brand's coil in my device?

Generally no. Coil and pod designs are specific to each manufacturer and family, so a coil from another brand will usually not fit or connect properly. Stick to the coil family listed for your device.

How often should I replace my coil or pod?

It depends on how much you vape and the juice you use. Most people replace a coil or pod every one to three weeks. Replace it when the flavour fades, it tastes burnt, or it starts leaking or gurgling.

Why does my new coil taste burnt?

Usually because the coil was not primed. Before the first puff, fill the pod or tank and let it stand for 5–10 minutes so the cotton is fully soaked. Start at the lower end of the wattage range. Sweet, heavily sweetened juices also wear coils out faster.

What is the difference between mesh and regular coils?

Mesh coils use a flat sheet of mesh that heats evenly and quickly, which tends to give fuller flavour and more vapour. Regular (wire) coils usually give a slightly tighter, warmer draw. Both work well; it comes down to personal preference.

Do 2ml and 3ml versions of the same pod fit the same device?

Usually yes, within the same family. For example, Vaporesso XROS pods fit across the XROS series. If in doubt, check the device name on the pod packaging or ask our staff.

Can I put an MTL coil in a DTL pod?

Only if the manufacturer lists it. For example, Vaporesso's Luxe XR DTL pod is designed for GTX coils from 0.15Ω to 0.4Ω, while the MTL pod suits higher resistances.
